Sinatra Stood Alone (1915 - 1998)

The Impeccable taste innate musicianship and unique communicative gifts of Sinatra placed him in a different class from that of his peers.

From the fifties onwards he raised the standards in recording studios through the excellence of the Musicians and arranger with whom he worked- Nelson Riddle, Billy May, Gordon Jenkins, Don Costa, Count Basie and other produced accompaniment of great distinction.

no other artiste, with the probable exception of Ella Fitzgerald, so defined through the sheer volume of his recorded work, the musical culture from which he came, nowadays referred to as the "Great American Song Book".

Musicologist's of the future who research this period will find great value in the musical legacy's bequeathed by both these artistes. They survive as un-imperishable monuments to the great songwriters and composers who created the original material as will their own irreplaceable talents that will shine forever.

Frank's Tribute:

Frank Sinatra was, without doubt The Greatest popular vocalist of the 20th Century.
He was also a terrific Actor and that talent shone through when he delivered the story line of each song
Sinatra sang for every mood, sadness, hurt, happiness, melancholy, and regret.

There was no one better than Sinatra when he performed the great musical stage hits, as in the album
"The Concert Sinatra" with a 74 piece Orchestra.

There are thousands of Sinatra type vocalists around the world trying to emulate his wonderful unique sound.
I've honestly never heard anyone come near to catching that and the ambience of the 'Governors'' Talent (including myself)
but there's no harm in trying!. Besides every Sinatra song takes you on a wonderful musical journey

Sinatra has been a massive part of my professional career, 'Spiritually' I feel he's my dear absent friend.
